The Record Store Day represents a sort of gathering of various independent record shop owners, employees and staff. This is basically a day where the word is being spread about this magnificent culture through joy, beer, and good music.
The Record Store Day is being held on all continents (excluding Antarctica), and nearly every state celebrates this day in this way or the other.
Anyhow, on each Record Store Day event, there are certain exclusive releases, and we’re here with the list of the top 11 best Record Store Day Releases, just for you:
1. The Beatles – Strawberry Fields Forever
The Beatles are always a classic, but their Strawberry Fields Forever is something else. This song was taken from the Sgt. Pepper session, and this exclusive contains a limited edition 7” single. The exclusive release will happen on the 22nd of April, 2017.
2. The Doors – Live at the Matrix ‘67
The Doors made the 70s, and their live performance in San Francisco virtually blew the roof. This exclusive release is re-mastered, and it features Whisky Bar, Soul Kitchen, Back Door Man, The Crystal Ship, and other popular songs.
3. Elton John – Live 17.11.1970
Elton John’s limited release will feature 2 LPs of the live sessions at the 1970 at A&R studios, New York. Some of the most popular songs by Elton John were performed that day, including the Indian Street, Take me to the pilot, Bad side of the moon, Country Comfort, I need you to turn to, Border Song, and other famous hits.
4. Santana – Live at The Woodstock Music & art Fair, August 16, 1969
Santana’s Live at the Woodstock LP happened on the 16th of August, 1969, and this was the turning point for his life. This performance features some of his biggest hits, and it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss.
5. Ramones – 76-’79 Singles Box
The Sire labels took over these magnificent punk-rocker’s singles and re-mastered them, making the traditional Ramones sound much more hip. Some of the classics that are found on this LP are Blitzkrieg Bop, Swallow my Pride”, Sheena is a punk rocker”, “Rock ‘N’ roll High School”, and, of course, “I Wanna Be Sedated”.
6. Saxon – Into the Labyrinth
Metal fans will be thrilled by this exclusive release of Saxon’s “Into the Labyrinth”. You can bang your head with “Battalions of steel”, “Live to Rock”, “Demon Sweeney Todd”, “Valley of The Kings”, and other great hits.
7. Red Hot Chili Peppers – Go robot Live
This is actually a split of two singles – a limited release edition of the unreleased live tracks – Go Robot, and Dreams of a Samurai. Both of these were recorded live in Spain at the Barclaycard Center, 2016.
8. The Sex Pistols – Anarchy in the UK and The UK & US Singles
The Sex Pistols are definitely the single most-famous punk-rock band worldwide. The “Anarchy in the UK” got them so famous that this exclusive release was bound to happen at some point. This release features 4 UK 7”s, and a single 7” from the US, housed in a beautiful box. The famous hits include “Anarchy in the UK”, “Pretty Vacant (both UK and US versions)”, “Holidays in the Sun”, and “God Save the Queen”.
9. David Bowie – Bow Promo
Here we have another split – Seven David Bowie songs, and Five Gillespie songs in one format. Basically, this split was conceived in 1971 by Tony Defries (Bowie’s Manager) and it was supposed to help Bowie and Gillespie a certain record deal (which it did). The Side A features Bowies, and the Side B Gillespie’s songs, among which you will hear “Oh! You Pretty Things”, “Eight Line Poem”, “Kooks”, “It Ain’t Easy”, “Queen Bitch”, “Quicksand”, and “Bombers”.
10. Avenged Sevenfold – Waking the Fallen
Metalcore wasn’t so famous in the vinyl record industry, but Avenged Sevenfold somehow did it. Maybe they weren’t truly metalcore. Maybe they were better. Anyhow, “Waking the Fallen” can now be purchased on the double LP special collector’s edition, and, guess what? You can only purchase it on the day of the Record Store Day event.

11. Motorhead – Clean your Clock
Ever since Lemmy’s passing, the world will never be the same. Out of respect for this glorious legend, the Record Store Day will feature a special releas of “Clean Your Clock” on two LP Picture Discs. Again, as the exclusive release, you will hardly find it after the event.
